In light of Governor Baker’s declaration of a State of Emergency yesterday (3/10/20) afternoon, and as a result of the guidance issued by his office, the Braintree Public Schools will be canceling and/or postponing international and out-of-state student travel until further notice.
Specifically, at this time, the following scheduled trips are affected:
Washington DC for 8th Graders: this trip is postponed. We will be issued vouchers for travel at a later date by the travel company and will seek to reschedule the trip for as soon as possible.
The following trips are also canceled, and we will work with the respective travel companies to maximize refunds for parents.
France and Spain: BHS foreign language trip
Nashville: The BHS Band and Orchestra
Quebec: East and South Middle School foreign language trip
We understand the implications of these decisions and have delayed making them for the last several weeks in the hope that conditions would improve; however, with the Governor’s declaration, we view this as the necessary and appropriate decision. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.
